ALUMNI MEET 2019
Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance celebrated its 6th Annual Alumni Meet, 'Rendezvous Sei', on 8th of December 2019. An Alumni Meet is organised to celebrate and refresh old relationships and form new ones. It is an occasion when students gather at their Alma Mater, rush down the memory lane and try to relive the lost moments once again. They fervidly look forward for having new interactions with staff and faculty and are thrilled to be back in the campus again. This year’s carnival themed meet was no less entertaining than any of the previous ones and the onus was on Alumni Committee to make this event memorable- a task in which they left no stone unturned. The event was filled with fun and games with juniors taking on the task to make the evening joyous for the visiting alumni. It was a roller coaster ride down to the early days of alumni in the campus to the day they parted from this revered institution cherishing each moment in between. All of them gave their best efforts to make this meet dazzling. Not to forget the warm interaction between the Director and alumni, in which she urged these former students to provide their external support and contribution. The evening was scintillating, and the joy was all the more vigorous to say the least.
On the 11th November, 2017, The Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance held its 4th Alumni meet “Rendezvous Quadro”. The event bore testimony to the successful relationship between the institute and the previous students. It also was a perfect occasion for the current students to get along with the alumni and share each other’s experience at SSBF.
The event commenced with the opening ceremony by the hosts of the get-together, who kept the audience in splits with their witty sarcasms, jokes and benign humour. The event was a perfect blend of energetic band performance, a soul-stirring solo song performance, spectacular moves to the latest Bollywood and international chartbusters and a skit. Besides, a short film was directed by the senior students and the staff, revolving around the nostalgia experienced by the previous students when they visit their alma mater, which pulled at the heartstrings of the audience. Also, the evening included creative fun-filled games like “Dumb Charades” and “Tambola” and an impromptu ramp walk, which added zing to the soiree.
The evening was concluded by our honourable Director Dr. Manisha Ketkar, who asked the present alumni as well as the current students to visit their foundations every year.
On the 27th day of February, The Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance held its 2nd Alumni meet “Rendezvous 2.0”. The event marked the successful relationship between the Management and the previous students. It also served as an opportunity for the current students to interact with their seniors and share each other’s experience of their time at SSBF and the Working life style. Filled with Desi Bollywood entertainment, the evening included creative fun filled games such as “Pehchaan Kaun” where the alumnus where to identify a mixed picture of a Faculty of SSBF along with famous celebrities. The night started with poetry by Subham Kashyap which led to the Alumnus walking down Memory Lane. Furthermore, in order to show our appreciation to the Alumnus, students of SSBF performed a Bollywood mix dance which set the atmosphere for a fruitful and overwhelming interaction session.
The evening was concluded by our Deputy Director Dr. Deepa Gupta who thanked the present alumni to re-visit their foundations along with presenting an SSBF Pen Drive as an appreciation for their contribution in making SSBF one of the Top Business Schools in the country.
The fifth Alumni Meet was conducted on 8th of December 2018 at Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance (SSBF). A total of 50 alumni, from various batches from 2010-12 to 2016-18, were present for the meet. Such a meet is arranged to celebrate and refresh old relationships, while forming new ones. The excitement to come back to one’s alma mater and relive all those moments which are still fresh in one’s mind can never be better than any other feeling. The same happened with all the alumni present for the meet.
The theme for the program was ‘Disco’, which was in line with the tagline of the meet, ‘Rendezvous Quintet’. The theme lightened the atmosphere and made it brighter.
The program started with an introduction note by Dr. Manisha Ketkar, Director, SSBF. She welcomed the alumni and talked about the Alumni Engagement Team at Symbiosis International University. This was followed by a graceful dance performance by the junior girls. It was enthralling and created an atmosphere of rejoice.
No meet is complete if there is no alumni interaction. That is one thing which makes alumni feel that they are still a part of the college and are connected to the students as well as faculty. Involvement of alumni in the program was made sure by playing games like Heads - Up and Couple Questioning game. They walked down the memory lane by remembering the faculties, college campus, routine, hostel life and many more moments which will always be cherished by them. A string of fun performances, activities and games was followed by a rocking musical performance by the college band.
Dr. Bindya Kohli, Deputy Director, SSBF, then delivered the vote of thanks and asked everyone to proceed for dinner.
The words by Eugin Raskin will fit into the situation:
“Those were the days my friend
We thought they had never end
We had sing and dance forever and a day
We had lived the life we choose
We had fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way”
The days spent will never come back but the memories left behind will never fade, dedicated to all the alumni of Symbiosis School of Banking Finance.
